I would like to install a Songmics privacy screen on a terrace, attaching it directly to a concrete railing. The site configuration does not allow for ground fixing, as the terrace is made of unreinforced paving slabs on pedestals, and any drilling would risk weakening or damaging the slabs. Therefore, the screen will be fixed laterally to the concrete railing. However, there is a coping stone on top of the railing, which prevents the screen's upright from resting directly on the concrete surface. To compensate for this, a stainless steel shim will be added between the railing and the screen's upright. The combined thickness of the stainless steel shim and the Songmics upright is approximately 7 cm. The fixing will be achieved using anchor bolts suitable for concrete, allowing them to pass through the 7 cm non-load-bearing thickness (shim + post) and anchor directly into the concrete structure of the railing, thus ensuring a stable and secure mechanical fixing. I wish to install a Songmics screen on a terrace by fixing it directly to a concrete railing. The site configuration does not allow for ground fixing because the terrace is composed of unreinforced paving slabs on pedestals, and any drilling would risk weakening or damaging the slabs. The fixing will therefore be carried out laterally on the concrete railing. However, there is a coping on top of the railing, which prevents the screen post from resting directly and flush against the concrete surface. To compensate for this difference, a stainless steel shim will be added between the railing and the screen post. The assembly formed by the stainless steel shim and the Songmics post represents a total thickness of approximately 7 cm. The fixing will be achieved using anchor bolts suitable for concrete, allowing them to pass through this 7 cm of non-load-bearing thickness (shim + post) and anchor directly into the concrete structure of the railing, thus ensuring a stable and secure mechanical fixing.
