The anti-splitting feature saves time by eliminating the need to pre-drill the sheathing. The screw used is a double-threaded countersunk head decking screw, TF Torx T25 5 x 50, with a type 17 anti-splitting point made of A2 stainless steel. Three screws will be used per 18mm thick, 15cm wide, and 3m long fir sheathing board. The heads of these screws will be slightly countersunk into the wood, allowing for the installation of a rainscreen without damaging it.
