For classic presses and “C” presses. I make myself clamps following the plans from woodgears.ca and ibuildit.ca. No need for a nut because you can make a tap with the threaded rod directly by cutting it with the angle grinder! I have already made several presses like this with classic threaded rods but the pitch is lower so it takes longer to tighten than with a trapezoidal thread. Likewise, the thread is more resistant. The press is very light like the Bessey HKL but you can tighten it more with the screw.
