I use it to replace an original screw which is used to assemble a digital code on its support. It is a Chinese-made digital code, CE standard, model AR8-MF. It has a small M3x5 screw underneath to secure it to its support. But this screw has a cruciform recess so it is not practical if installed close to a support below. I therefore replace it with an equivalent in a 6-sided recess to be able to fit a suitable key head.
