To screw the wood onto our platforms: Securing the wooden planks to the treetop adventure platforms. For securing the planks that make up the decking of our treetop adventure platforms, we use TEKOR 6 50 mm TORX T30 wood screws, made of zinc-plated steel, with a full thread, countersunk head, and type 17 anti-splitting point. The planks used are made of larch, approximately 150 cm long and 20 cm wide. Each plank is fixed to the wooden structure of the platform using 8 TEKOR 6 50 mm screws, distributed across the different support points to ensure even support of the decking. The choice of these screws meets several objectives: 6 mm diameter and 50 mm length: allow for proper anchoring of the plank in its wooden support. Full thread: ensures mechanical support along the entire threaded length and limits movement of the plank. Countersunk head: allows the screw head to sit flush with the wood and prevents any protrusion on the walking surface. Type 17 anti-splitting point: facilitates penetration into the wood and reduces the risk of splitting the boards during screwing. TORX T30 drive: provides good torque transmission and limits the risk of the bit slipping during installation. Zinc-plated steel: protects the screws against corrosion. Installation is carried out using a Makita drill equipped with a long TORX T30 bit, allowing for precise screwing and good control of the head depth. The use of 8 fixing points per board ensures that each decking element is properly secured, limits its movement or lifting, and ensures a stable walking surface on the platforms. During platform maintenance and inspection operations, the condition of the boards and their fixings is checked. Any screw showing deterioration, loosening or abnormal corrosion, as well as any board showing a defect likely to affect its stability, must be replaced.
